I remember as a kid having respect for the FBI. At Christmas, when we watched Die Hard, the scene were the agents are discussing how many casualties they would cause would piss me off as Hollywood doing a hyperbolic, over-exaggeration of miss-characterization of good law enforcement officers just doing their job. While I still support law enforcement (I have many friends who are cops and I have mass respect for what they have to deal with everyday) and there are good FBI agents, I no longer feel the agency is fit for purpose. Long have I started calling the FBI the Federal Bureau of Incompetence, every year that passes they look more and more like morons and thugs with badges running around, performing political theater rather than protecting Americans. This whole Epstein saga has been one of the final straws for me as I feel like the FBI spent more time protecting certain elites and intelligence assets, rather than protecting the young victims of that S.O.B. Epstein. And crap like this story, makes me want to devolve the organisation as a whole.
